MEETING NOTES
The July meeting was called to order by President Phil Snyder and the minutes read by Secretary Walt Robbins. There followed a discussion of the two, major, up-coming, spectacular, not-to-be-missed, exciting, Chapter Events:

Instead of our normal, third Thursday Chapter Meeting, on August 21, we will have a Chapter Outing. It is recommended to begin the adventure by 6:15 PM at the Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania SEPTA Train Station to catch the 6:15 train to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. That gets us there in time to assemble at 7:30 PM (sharp) for our very own, special, behind-the-scenes guided tour of the control facilities high above the station floor!

And, if that wasn't enough, on Saturday, August 16, the Chapter's greatly anticipated, Do-It-Yourself, Bring-Your-Own-Food, Rain-or-Shine, Come-and-Join-Us Annual Picnic will be held with the aid of the Wilmington & Western Railroad. We will board the 12:30 PM train at the almost-ready-for-use new station at Greenbank, Delaware for a ride to the picnic grove at Mount Cuba (one of the highest elevations in the state of Delaware).

Following refreshments, we had our usual summer do-it-yourself slide program. Slides were presented by Ken Berg (Vancouver-Lillowet 9/96), Ed Thornton (Track Laying Machine 5/97), Greg Ajamian (St. Paul, MN 6/97), Bruce Barry (Portland,OR area 6/97), Ernie Barry (Lancaster, Oxford & Southern right-of-way), Frank Ferguson (Chicago, Powder River, Fort Worth), and Phil Snyder (Wilmington Station, Feltonville 7/97).

From The Editor
Sorry I couldn't put more into this newsletter but I'm only home a short time between business trips. However, I wanted to make sure everyone knew about the Chapter Trip and other events coming up. Hopefully, I can put more together next time.
