Wilmington Chapter
National Railway Historical Society

The Wilmington Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society was chartered in 1967. 

We have monthly meetings and produce our own chapter newsletter.

Chapter activities include rail excursions, an annual banquet, picnics and a photo contest.

We have run rail excursions in South Jersey, DelMarVa and Southeastern Pennsylvania, including SEPTA streetcar trips.  

We have also sponsored doodlebug and steam-powered mixed trains over the Wilmington & Western Railroad.  

Our Chapter has enjoyed tours of Amtrak's Centralized Electrification and Traffic Control Center in Philadelphia's 30th Street Station and the Bear and Wilmington Maintenance Facilities.
